The City of Forest Lake is accepting applications for City Clerk.  The newly created City Clerk position performs all statutory functions and legal requirements of the Office of City Clerk by coordinating and executing administrative duties for the Administration Department and City Council, overseeing official records management and retention, data practices, elections, licensing, and related work as apparent or assigned. Associates/Technical degree in business administration, office management or related field and 3 to 5 years experience in public administration, preferably in the deputy clerk or city clerk position, or equivalent of work experience and education. Salary Range is $88,619.87-$110,774.84, DOQ.

Seasonal - Park Rangers

The City of Forest Lake's Park and Recreation Department is currently hiring part-time seasonal Park Rangers for Spring - Fall 2024.  Park Rangers will work independently to keep a clean and safe environment at Lakeside Memorial Park during the weekday evenings and weekends mid-April through mid-October.  Duties include, but are not limited to monitoring park activity, enforcing park rules, and maintaining a clean park and facilities.

Seasonal Maintenance Staff

The City of Forest Lake is now hiring Seasonal Maintenance Staff for this upcoming Summer.  These positions will assist Full Time staff in the maintenance of the City’s streets, parks, public facilities, equipment, and other related work.  This seasonal position is M-F 7:00am-3:30pm.  No nights or weekends.  Starting hourly wage is $16.00-$18.00, DOQ.

Police Officer

The Forest Lake Police Department is seeking applications for one full-time Police Officer and an eligibility list for one anticipated retirement early 2024. Applicants must be highly motivated, dedicated to community service, and possess a strong work ethic and communication skills. 

2024 contract salary range is $75,733-$101,753 annually along with health, dental and vision contributions up to $1415/monthly.   2025 contract salary range is 78,020-$104,832.   Additional salary and benefit considerations including front-loaded vacation and sick accrual will be considered for lateral candidates.  A streamlined training program may also be given based upon experience and current pay structure.  Up to $2,000 a year in tuition reimbursement is available to all employees.  Additional salary increases for Detectives and School Resource Officers.
